Fall Yard Waste Drop-Off Weekend

The City of Wheat Ridge is collaborating with Scraps Mile High to host a Fall Yard Waste Drop Off Weekend at Prospect Park on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. This event is free for all Wheat Ridge residents!

How to register:
In an effort to protect public health, maintain social distancing and limit traffic within the park, registration is required and all registered participants will be assigned a two-hour pickup window by Scraps.

What is allowed:
Only yard debris will be accepted at this event. Acceptable yard waste includes leaves, grass, pumpkins, flowers, houseplants, weeds and small branches (less than 3’ long and 4’’ diameter). Leaves and other loose/small debris must be contained in paper yard waste bags or compostable bags. Branches can be loose, or tied with natural fiber/rope/string.

What is not allowed:
Compostable food waste, dirt, treated lumber, ashes, animal waste, or plastics/synthetic material of any kind will not be accepted. For questions regarding what is accepted/prohibited, contact info@scrapsmilehigh.com.

Bag limits:
Each registered participant may bring up to two cubic yards (approx. 3’ x 3’ x 3’, or about 14 30-gallon bags) of organic yard waste to drop off at the event.

If you or someone you know could benefit from this service, please contact HUB staff at 303-982-2198 or on their Facebook Page - facebook.com/thehubatstevens.  They will reach out to you to coordinate resources and schedule a contactless pickup at Steven Elementary.
