A Note from Krista

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."
--Albert Camus

This is, quite possibly, my favorite quote to celebrate the arrival of autumn. For some, the transition from long summer nights to shorter, colder ones is hard to accept, especially when we "fall back" and feel like we're an hour off-kilter. Camus reminds us, with his elegant phrase, to instead find the beauty in every season and perhaps re-set ourselves as we re-set our clocks.

At Localworks, we celebrate this season with our widely popular Trunk or Treat. We are excited to host this year's event this Saturday, October 27. Trunk or Treat offers a safe and fun opportunity to enjoy Halloween-themed activities with your neighbors and community. We are still collecting candy donations to pass out to all the wee goblins and would love your support! Please see our full list of drop-off locations here

Hope to see you and your goblins on Saturday!

Krista Lewis, Executive Director

This is a fun and safe trick-or-treating experience for kids and their families. Participating businesses and community members decorate their cars and trucks with creative disguises and hand out candy to kids. The event also features a haunted house, carnival games and a trunk decorating competition. Don't miss out on this spooky good time.

If you'd like to contribute to this year's event, please consider donating candy. There are several drop off locations around Wheat Ridge. Click here for the full list.

Pints & Policy: Festivus! For the Rest of Us!

Localworks invites you and other civically-curious folks to Pints & Policy, where we peel back the curtain to learn more about how the city works… while enjoying a libation or two.

Please join us for our annual tradition Festivus! For the Rest of Us! where we clear the air and reset neighborly attitudes after a fiery election season. Festivus opens with the Airing of Grievances then Feats of Strength. These are followed by Local Limericks, Terrible Puns and Wicked Games. There will be prizes, lots of laughter and a new outlook on local politics. Hope to see you there!
