We here at Localworks want to let you know how we are responding to COVID-19. But first, we want to say thank you. Thank you for all that you do to make Wheat Ridge an amazing community. Localworks was founded on the belief that community connections are what create a vibrant and sustainable city. Even though we're unable to be together physically for the near term, we believe COVID-19 is showing us the true power of community: reaching out to our neighbors and offering assistance, continuing to support our local businesses and being creative in how we continue to achieve our mission of making a Wheat Ridge a vibrant and sustainable community.
Our community's health and well-being are and always have been our utmost priority and concern. Here is what we are doing for our staff and wider Wheat Ridge community:
First and foremost, all of our communications will reference and link back to credible sources and focus on how we support our local businesses and each other as community members.
On Monday, we added “How to Support Local Business During COVID-19” on the front page of our website. You can see these strategies here.
Our upcoming Live Local event at Ornamental Bead which was scheduled for April 18th has been postponed.
Our work is continuing and our face-to-face meetings with our community members and partners are being held via conference calls and other digital platforms.
We are reaching out to the business community so that we can share with you how they are handling their business efforts and how we can support our business community.
We will be sharing community related information from the City of Wheat Ridge, Jefferson County, Jeffco Schools, etc.
We will be sharing articles related to how to handle isolation from a community standpoint.
We will be sharing information from other organizations regarding the logistics of this situation.
As we move through the uncharted territory of COVID-19, please don’t forget to support our local businesses and our community partners including Family Tree, The Action Center, Vitalant (Bonfils Blood Bank) and others.
Follow us on Facebook to keep up with what is happening in our community as things are changing quickly and frequently. Also, please reach out to us with ideas and strategies as we navigate the coming days.
We hope our collective responses to COVID-19 will allow it to pass quickly and we are able to connect with you in person soon!
