Fitness in the (Virtual) Park
Join Feed Your Soul Fitness for the 3rd Annual Fitness and Stretching in the (Virtual) Park! You can join this free fitness class from the comfort of your home (or yard). The only equipment you'll need is a pillow and two canned goods. This will be a full body workout that is ideal for beginner/intermediate fitness levels with plenty of modifications provided if you have injuries/limitations. The workout will be about 25 min followed by about 10 min of deep stretches. You will feel energized, accomplished, happy and strong at the end of this session. While we all wish we could be together in the park, Feed Your Soul Fitness and Localworks are excited to see you online! Please register at the link below to get the Zoom link for the class.
Join Localworks and the Wheat Ridge Cultural Commission for our new summer program, Chalk of the Town. This is a community chalk art program that will pair volunteers with Wheat Ridge businesses to create unique sidewalk chalk art in front of businesses. It will run in June, July and August.
Businesses and volunteers can sign up and choose which month they'd like to participate. Art installations will take place during the week of June 14, the week of July 12 and the week of August 9. We will provide volunteers with the chalk, tape and a few easy templates. They can use one of the templates or create their own family-friendly design. Finally, each month, we'll release a map of where community members can find the art. Please follow the link below if you'd like to register to participate.
Help Localworks celebrate the staff of Lutheran Medical Center with a car/bike parade. Decorate your car/bike and/or make a sign and meet us at Lutheran so we can show our appreciation for all they have done for our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. We'll meet in the parking lot by Pediatrics West (3555 N Lutheran Pkwy) at 6:30pm on June 24. We'll take off from there to do a quick loop by the main entrance. We will start the parade at exactly 6:45pm, so don't be late! If you plan to participate by bike, feel free to drive to the Pediatrics West parking lot and leave your car.
Please note: due to COVID-19 restrictions, we ask the following of our participants. Please wear a mask during this event. Drivers and passengers, please remain in your vehicle before and during the parade. Participating cyclists, please wear a helmet and remain physically distant. Thank you!
