The summer is flying by, and there is still a lot of fun to be had in Wheat Ridge. Whether you are looking to engage virtually or in-person, Localworks has several upcoming opportunities for community connections. Check out all of the details below.
- The Localworks Team
Wheat Ridge Scavenger Hunt
This August, join Localworks for the Wheat Ridge Scavenger Hunt. This game will take you all around Wheat Ridge. To finish the game, you'll need to complete actions such as going to a Wheat Ridge park, visiting a local business, taking a safely distanced selfie with a neighbor and more. When you've completed 5 actions on the list, you'll email your photo proof to Localworks. Each household that finishes the scavenger hunt will be entered to win a $25 gift card to a Wheat Ridge business. Register at the link below, and you'll receive instructions and the list of tasks. Good luck!
Our final Movie on the Ridge is sold out. If you have already reserved your ticket for Jurassic Park on August 21, we are excited to see you there. Thank you to everyone who has joined us at our drive-in movies this summer.
Wheat Ridge 101
Applications for Wheat Ridge 101 are now open!
Wheat Ridge 101 is a free, six-week interactive course taking place on Wednesday evenings from September 23 through October 28, 2020. Provided in partnership by the City of Wheat Ridge and Localworks, this program is designed to share detailed information about how the City of Wheat Ridge works, and to discuss strategies for effective public discourse and community engagement.
The deadline to apply is August 21, 2020 at 5 p.m.
Wheat Ridge residents and property owners are invited to get involved in the beautification and continued maintenance of their properties and neighborhoods. We will provide trash, recycling and yard waste dumpsters for residents to utilize. For a list of items you can and cannot dispose of at these events, click here.
New COVID-19 Guidelines:
All patrons must remain in their vehicles until it's their turn to dump and they are directed to do so.
Social distancing must be adhered to at all times.
Masks, eye protection, and gloves will be required to be worn by all personnel and volunteers. A minimum of face covering is required to be worn by patrons while dumping.
Patrons will be required to dump on their own and will need to bring help with them for large items as CSOs and volunteers should not be assisting with dumping in an effort to protect the health and safety of our personnel.

The event features live bluegrass music, a classic car show, chalk art, plein air art, kids’ activities and more. If you are unable to join us in person, please follow along on our Facebook page during RidgeFest for fun, virtual content.
This year, some event sections are ticketed to help with crowd control and maintaining social distance. Learn more and reserve tickets at the link below.
PLEASE NOTE: All event participants must comply with all state and local health orders. Masks are required. Participants must adhere to all regulations created by partner organizations/businesses when on those premises (Wheat Ridge Lanes, Bardo Coffee House, Clancy’s Irish Pub, Four Seasons Farmers and Artisans Market, Al’s Pine Garden, 5 Fridges Farm and West 29th Restaurant and Bar). Details are subject to change. If local or state guidelines change and no longer permit this event, RidgeFest will move to a completely virtual model.

Please join us as often as you’d like!
Everyone in the community is welcome to attend. Please help us spread the word about this program by sharing the registration page with friends and neighbors. See you on Wednesday!
