A Note from Krista

"People crave comfort, people crave connection, people crave community." – Marianne Williamson

On September 8, thousands will gather on the Green to celebrate the agricultural heritage of Wheat Ridge. Localworks is proud to present the 5th Annual RidgeFest, which is designed to shine the spotlight on Ridge at 38 and the entire Wheat Ridge community. This event is the perfect occasion to connect with your neighbors while ushering in the beginning of autumn. Details of the event are listed in the newsletter below.

We could use some more volunteers for this fun-filled event. Please see a full list of volunteer opportunities here. In fact, we are always looking for community-minded people to volunteer at the many events we host throughout the year. Please contact Carolyn Doran, Events Manager to learn how you can help.

Hope to see you on the Green!

Krista Lewis, Executive Director

RidgeFest 2018

Celebrate Wheat Ridge and its one of a kind charm at RidgeFest. This day of fun for the whole family will be held Saturday, September 8 from 3 to 9pm, in the heart of the Ridge at 38 district. Localworks’ RidgeFest is a free event highlighting the unique character and culture of Wheat Ridge.

The event will feature four bluegrass bands, a classic car show, cottage foods, chalk art, vendors, food trucks, local beer, lots of kids’ activities and more.

Volunteer Happy Hour

At Localworks, we love our volunteers! We have hundreds of individuals that donate their time to us each year. From serving on our Board of Directors to working at our events, our volunteers offer their support in a number of different ways. Whether you’ve volunteered with us in the past or are interested in volunteering with us in the future, please join us at this summer’s happy hour. We'll provide beer and wine, and the shops along the West 29th Avenue Marketplace will provide food and entertainment. Hope to see you there.

TLC Wheat Ridge: Clean Up Days

Wheat Ridge residents and business owners are invited to get involved in the beautification and continued maintenance of their properties and neighborhoods with this year's Clean Up Days. Each event will have trash, recycling, and yard waste dumpsters. Please visit our website for the list of what can and cannot be thrown away at these events. Clean Up Days run from 8am until noon (or when dumpsters fill).

September 22 | Wheat Ridge Congregational Church | 6310 W 29th Avenue

Looking to give back to your community? We need two volunteers for this event. This volunteer position requires standing in the hot sun and possibly getting a bit dirty as you help fellow citizens lift their items into the dumpsters. We need one volunteer from 7:30am to 10am and one from 10am to 12:30pm. If you're interested, email Chelsea Bunker for more information.
